Calling in sick

It feels like forever ago that I was calling into work sick and stayed home and did the things that made me feel better quick! Last Saturday was my grandmas 86th bday party, we got ready to go and off we went. On the way there Preston was a bit of a mess, he had a bit of milk and then just looked out the window. When we got to her house my entire family was there. Preston got scared with all the noise and started crying and only wanted to be held by me or Sean. After that things just went down hill, he was not his usual happy baby. I should have known things where only about to get worse.
He was not impressed I tired to take a picture. My poor Grandma

The whole ride home he cried (my grandma lives 30 mins away) so I was super worried. As soon as we arrived at home and in the drive way he threw up. I thought it was just because he had cried so but that was not the case. I put him in his PJ's and was giving him milk while he was drifting away. His eyes where about to close when all of a sudden he opened his eyes and started crying. I quickly got up and held him upright, within a few seconds he threw up on me on the floor on the rocking chair, it was everywhere. I called out for Sean to come give me a hand but he had just stepped out to go to Safeway. I took off his PJ's ran his bath and changed my clothes. I gave him a quick bath and as I was putting his PJ's on he was falling asleep. I had music playing (Justin timberlake!) to distract him and even through all the noise my sweet baby was falling asleep. He then quickly fell asleep in my arms. That night consisted of Sean and I changing P's clothes, bed sheets, our own clothes, and cleaning up the floors several times. He finally stopped throwing up at around 1:30am, I went to bed at 3 am giving him 5 ml of milk every 4 mins. We slept on the floor in his room because we were worried he he would throw up while he was sleeping. It was a rough night.

Preston Starting to Feel better

This week has been equally as difficult. We took him to the doctor and he told us that he has the stomach flu and we just have to see it through. That's so hard as a mom because he's so little and its hard to see him in pain and not be able to help him. He's getting better but this mama is tired! I started feeling sick the other day and when I woke up I thought "I'm calling in sick today" haha yeah right. My job is 24hours a day, no sick days, and no vacation time(unless everyone goes)! One day Sean texted me while I was in the shower and since I didn't answer he said " are you sleeping on the job" lol I wish!
Even though this week has been rough and I've been thrown up on too many times and I've done way to much laundry in one week, I wouldnt change it for the world. The precious moments when P falls asleep in my arms and when he wakes up from his nap and gives me a big smile or when he looks at me with those big brown eyes and says mama make all this worth it. I think I'll survive without sick days.
Preston's growing so fast and learning news things everyday. I am lucky to be able to spend this time with him. My mom told me that my grandma would always say that when a new baby is born, a mother born (sounds better in Spanish!) which I totally agree. Preston and I are learning together and at times it can be challenging but then I share those sweet moments with my boy that only I will remember and cherish.

When im feeling down I like to buy clothes so
I did just that, I bought P some new clothes!
Im sure it made him feel better:)
